If you are seeking to lose weight then I suggest that you take up weight training. If you are an athlete then you needs to weight train since it will help you improve your performance. If you want to achieve true bodybuilding success avoid steroids at all cost because they will affect your health as follows; enlargement of the clitoris, shrinking testicles, low libido, low sperm count, impotence in men, loss of hair, growth of facial hair in women, coarse voice in women, irregularity in there menstrual cycle, increase in aggression, heart problems, liver conditions, kidney problems and sleeping disorders. The only way you can be able to increase your muscle gain is as follows;

1. Eat good food suited for a bodybuilder
If you want to succeed in bodybuilding you need to be very aware about the kind of diet you are eating. The reason I am saying this is because calories are the pillars of bodybuilding. If you are not able to take sufficient calories necessary to undertake intense training then I am afraid you will not succeed in your bodybuilding career. Calories are the fuel of the body and a bodybuilder needs enough fuel as he can get in order to undertake intense training.
Eat quality calories and not junk food. Quality calories can be gotten from carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fat. Proteins are the building blocks of muscles. You need to include carbohydrates since they contain glycogen which is also a very important nutrient used in bodybuilding. You should also take healthy fat in your diet because they contain a lot of calories.

2. Avoid aerobic exercises
If you overdo aerobic exercises you will promote catabolism which is the wasting away of the muscles. If you have to perform aerobic exercises then make sure that you do not do them for a prolonged period of time.

3. Weight train
Your training needs to be very intense so that you completely damage the muscle tissues. This is called constructive damage and usually leads to the growth of muscles as they begin to repair. If you do not train intensely using heavy weights with few reps, you will not be able to instill sufficient damage on the muscle tissues to facilitate growth.
